Mashups are fun, if they are Rock’n'Roll mashups. The concept of combining two great songs into something can yield som interesting results. Check out the http://illuminoids.com/ for some examples. Whoever new that combining The Sex Pistols and Mike Pattons favourite band, Wolf Mother would actually sound cool…

This one, from rolling stone, is just amazing. It showa how these people got so far. They look damn good doing it. I can’t remember who said it, but a guitarplayer once said that it takes 5 years to learn how to play rock’n'roll, and ten years to learn how to look good doing it. Judge for yourself….

I thought I’d share a little rarity with you. In my opinion one of the most entertaining TV-shows about rock ever shot is Supergroup. A work of pure genius. For those not familiar with the show, it’s basically a show about a bunch of has-beens in the forms of Evan Seinfeld, Scott Ian, Jason Bonham, Sebastian Bach, and lst but not least, Ted Nugent who are stowed together in a Las Vegas manor for 12 days with a new purpose in life: To write and perform a new song.
You can easliy imagine what kind of mischief these guys get into. They show only spans for five episodes but every second of it is worth watching. I practically laughed my ass off while seeing it. I’m not going to spoil any of the plot here other than just tell you to go watch it, now!

I love music. To be quite specific, I love Rock! After spending a long time trying to find good ways to find new music in, either in the Rock genre or other, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Since I couldn’t find a great source for articles and stuff on Rock I’m hereby starting my own blog on the subject.
The Word of Rock is a blog that is meant to bring the rock to the people, by word of mouth, online. My plan is to write about anything that I would consider to be in the rock sphere. This includes anything from new albums, rumours on established artists, new up-and-coming acts that I come across to even stuff for the people wanting to make rock’n'roll for themselves.
My aim is to create a one-stop-shop for great rock content. Hope you like it.
